PaperCuts Exhibition – Sep2021 Adelaide

I’m an Australia Reads Ambassador for the 14th September 2021! Unfortunately, the COVID19 lockdown means that not a whole lot will be happening this front this year…

Manga caricatures for an illustration job I did. It’s always fun to do something like this.

I did an interview for Inner West council, on women in gaming. Here, I talk about taking some of my skills and applying it to video game art. If you’re a comic book artist and am interested in wandering into video game art, this may be an interesting area for you to have a look into.

SheSaw Celebration – #IWD 2021

On International Women’s Day on the 8th March 2021, my graphic novel series Women Who Were Kings was celebrated by women’s empowerment organisation SheSaw and the shopping centre World Square in the Sydney CBD. I was one of twelve women hand-picked to have a commemorative portrait done of me, and I also gave a talk/interview about my biographical series.

Many thanks to the organisers at SheSaw, the wonderful artists who created my portrait (one of a series), the people who attended my talk, and to those who bought my books! I also want to thank World Square and the City of Sydney for hosting my talk.

The portrait series is at World Square, at the corner of George and Goulburn St. It’s smack bang in the middle of the CBD so you can’t miss it, and it will be there for the rest of March 2021!

Here’s me next to my portrait with my books

Thanks to Donna form SheSaw for coordinating the interview/talk itself and organising it
Many thanks to Annie who attended here, and to everyone else who came and bought a book!

There is also a SheSaw app that you can download from the app store, that creates a virtual statue (augmented reality) of me in the middle of World Square.

To use it, download it and locate my statue using the app, and then stand at the designated spot (which happens to be in front of the SuperDry store at World Square), then use the camera. You’ll see a virtual “pin” of a statue pop up that describes some of my achievements.

Download the SheSaw app and use it at the right spot with location detection…
…and Viola! Here’s a pin that represents me (in front of the SuperDry store in World Square)

The exhibition will continue through Women’s History Month in March 2021! Visit World Square at the corner of George and Goulburn St in the city of Sydney to check out the portraits!
