Sample Art from “The Dreaming” v4

Here are some sample art from the first 20 pages of “The Dreaming” v4. It’s a supernatural-thriller-romance story, yes, it has very strong psychological-horror romance elements.

Now that I’ve let it sit for a bit and done some editing, it’s 250 pages, but that may change after I lay down the pages for v5 and look at the thing as a whole. As you can see, I’m going all-out with the art!

School Magazine Artwork – Jan-May 2024

I finally finished my PhD, and was exhausted for the month of May. My PhD is going to be marked and there may be a tonne of corrections, so it’s not over yet.

I did do a brief 1-hour talk about my topic of “Capitalism, Creative Labour and Webtoons“, which you can see here at http://www.queeniechan.com/phd. I’ll put it out there more once I get it marked and I’m officially a doctorate!

On the other hand, I’ve realised I’ve yet to upload my art for School Magazine this year! Can’t believe I forgot, but I had fun doing all of these!

“City Beat”, a play by Belinda Lees for TouchDown Magazine, February 2024
“Earth Can Wait”, a short story by John O’Brien for Orbit Magazine, February 2024
“Aliens at the Window”, a short story by Katie Aaron for TouchDown Magazine, April 2024
I was inspired by a certain popular manga for this story, I just couldn’t resist…

“The Tiger Trainer Trainers”, a poem by Jonathan Sellars for Orbit Magazine, May 2024

My ACE! Exhibition in Chengu, China @ 27th Jan ~ 29th Feb 2024

Every year, I’ve been part of the ACE! exhibition, which is an Australian Comics Exhibition held in partnership with the Australian Consulate-General. It’s organised by Illustrate Your Life, and in previous years, it’s been held in Thailand, Germany and Poland. This year, it’s held in Chengdu in China, at the Fang Suo Commune @ 27th Jan ~ 29th Feb 2024 with free entry.

Here are some photos of my artwork, and of the exhibition hall for 2024. Thanks to Jakub from Illustrate Your Life for organising this, and for the fantastic photos!
