MOTHER AND SON (PAGE 3) - By Queenie Chan

The Genius Mother thought for a moment, and then nodded. She knew what she wanted. Kneeling down so she was level with his short stature, she looked him straight in the eye as she said her next words.

‘I want to give birth to you again.’ She said. ‘I want to give birth to you, a second time.

The Boy Genius considered this, and then nodded. Her suggestion was brilliant, and utterly suited for their unique situation. Birthing, in many ways, was like Sexual Intercourse, but in Reverse—instead of the Man plunging into the Woman, the Man plunged out of the Woman.

The end result was different, but they had more in common than not. One took nine months and the other lasted only a few minutes, but the connection between the two were more than the mere physical. Both were connected to the wellspring of Life, the fountain from which we were all formed. While one experience was rooted in Ecstasy and the other in exquisite Agony, one does not need to cast too far in life to see that Pleasure and Pain can be flipsides of the same coin.

The Boy Genius looked at his Genius Mother, and solemnly took her hand into his own.

‘I agree that your proposal is the better one. This is what the two of us deserve—we stand apart from the rest of the human race, and our coupling should not be like any other. Together, we will apply our minds to this, and invent a machine that will allow me to shrink back into an embryonic state.’

So the two of them got to work, and eventually built an enormous, amazing contraption. Using it, the Genius Mother shrank Boy Genius into the state he was when he was first conceived, and then successfully implanted him into her Womb.

Though he was barely more than a Zygote, through the miracle of science, she was able to preserve his mind in the same state as it was before. Thus, the two of them would talk to teach other constantly, exchanging ideas and discussing new scientific ventures. The Boy Genius would communicate through something akin to telepathy, speaking to his Mother in her mind. She, in turn, would reply with words, the sound of which would reverberate in the embryonic fluid, like underwater music.

Boy Genius liked being an Embryo—there was an intimacy to it that was greater than a mere romantic relationship. He lived within her for months, the two of them eagerly watching his body grow, forming limbs, organs, a skeletal structure and blood vessels. They would take long walks by the lake, as Lovers often did, talking about their excitement for his birth—the moment of their consummation.

Six months passed, and the heat of summer passed into the cold of winter. Christmas was fast approaching, and Boy Genius, a six-month old Foetus by then, suggested they go outside for a walk. The Genius Mother agreed, so she put on her boots and her thick overcoat, and headed out into the heavy snow.

The two of them walked a street or so, when suddenly a screech of tyres sounded. The Genius Mother turned, in time to see a black armoured car bearing no license plate approaching them at breakneck speed. She gave a gasp of fear.
